Gary Onions

Gary brings over 25 years of experience in the plant and machinery sector, starting his career as an HGV Technician before moving into operating grab lorries for some of the UK’s leading groundworks companies. He later progressed to operating 360 excavators, dumpers and rollers, gaining extensive hands-on experience while also running his own successful business for over a decade. 

Gary is a qualified NPORS Tester across most plant categories and an NVQ Assessor, supporting learners on their journey toward achieving Blue CPCS/NPORS Cards. He also delivers Street Works training, bringing real-world insights to his instruction. 

With a strong technical background, practical experience and a passion for developing others, Gary is a highly effective and respected member of the training team.
